Today, Thaylo unveiled his latest single, ‘Let Me Be’, via PLAYY. Records, cementing his place as a dynamic force in electronic music. Hailing from Grenoble, France, this self-taught producer has amassed over 4.5 million streams, with releases on revered labels like Purified, Colorize, and Kontor. His emotive, piano-laced soundscapes have earned nods from heavyweights such as Martin Garrix, Nora En Pure, and Solomun, while his tracks dominate Spotify’s editorial playlists like Chill Tracks, Electronic Rising, and Summer House 2025. With a Beatport Top 100 Progressive House ranking and a spot in Deezer’s Top 100 in Indonesia, Thaylo’s artistry, inspired by visionaries like M83 and Ludovico Einaudi, continues to captivate global audiences.

‘Let Me Be’ captivates with its seamless blend of airy atmospheres and a vibrant, soulful groove. Thaylo crafts a soundscape of shimmering synth layers, a taut, rolling bassline, and precise, kinetic percussion that propels the track forward. His signature piano flourishes, tender and evocative, intertwine with the raw, yearning vocal hook, “Just let me be,” forging a mood that’s both introspective and cathartic. The single strikes a delicate balance—contemplative yet buoyant—making it an ideal companion for solitary night drives or euphoric festival moments under fading light. Tailor-made for fans of Ben Böhmer and Monolink, this self-produced gem highlights Thaylo’s knack for marrying organic warmth with electronic precision, delivering a deeply moving, unified sonic journey.

‘Let Me Be‘ was the result of stepping out of my comfort zone, mixing electronic and organic sounds but letting the piano guide me, and realizing that even my voice could become an instrument of unexpected depth and emotion,” Thaylo revealed. This bold exploration shows his growth as an artist unafraid to push boundaries, setting the stage for what’s sure to be a monumental year ahead.

Elevate Your Playlist with Exstra & Frýnn’s ‘Round & Round’: Pure Dancefloor Fire https://house-music.co/2025/05/02/elevate-your-playlist-with-exstra-frynns-round-round-pure-dancefloor-fire/ Fri, 02 May 2025 10:11:11 +0000 https://house-music.co/?p=2180

Today, Exstra unleashes ‘Round & Round’ featuring the spellbinding Frýnn on Enormous Chills, a track poised to ripple through the melodic house scene. Steven Landis, the New Yorker behind Exstra, has carved a name with 1.8 million streams, releasing on elite labels like Colorize, Zerothree, and Enormous Tunes. His 2024 singles ‘All I’ll Ever Know’ and ‘Frozen’ lit up Nora En Pure’s Purified Radio and AVIRA’s Sirius XM show, earning nods from Magnetic Magazine and EDM Identity. From singing in the Vatican as a teen to DJing at We Belong Here festivals with Kaskade and Monolink, and opening for Martin Roth, Exstra’s journey—ignited by Avicii and shaped by CamelPhat and Nora En Pure—is one of relentless evolution.

‘Round & Round’ weaves a hypnotic spell, kicking off with a pulsing four-on-the-floor and a delicate hang drum that threads through the track like a heartbeat. As rich bass and atmospheric pads swell, Frýnn’s radiant, anthemic vocals soar, guiding the song through dynamic peaks to a blissful, lingering fade. It’s a dancefloor magnet, resonating with fans of Tinlicker or Eli & Fur.

“’Round & Round’ started as a remix of a friend’s song, but it took on a life of its own, evolving into something completely original,” Exstra shared. “I was feeling inspired by the darker side of melodic club music and I wanted to create a melody that first appeared as a subtle tease—played delicately on a hang drum—before transforming into something more intense with an aggressive synth lead. After I completed the instrumental, I felt like a warm, beautiful vocal would be the perfect complement. Needless to say, Frýnn‘s stunning voice brought everything together effortlessly!”

KEINEMUSIK’S REZNIK REUNITES WITH MIKESH ON ‘ONE AND ONLY’ https://house-music.co/2025/04/10/keinemusiks-reznik-reunites-with-mikesh-on-one-and-only/ Thu, 10 Apr 2025 09:31:19 +0000 https://house-music.co/?p=2173

Having combined on multiple releases since 2020, ‘One And Only‘ opens up yet another chapter in Reznik & Mikesh’s collaborative efforts on Keinemusik. And what a nicely written chapter it is. The boys are laying down what might be their most heartfelt material to date, with an original version that is drafted in rather classical song structure – a yearning piece graced with string and piano arrangements, and most notably: Mikesh’s vocals. The club mix on the other hand picks on the original’s vibes and translates them into a more functional, but still deeply fervent peaktime weapon. Both tunes have been road tested by the Keinemusik crew over the last months and generated some serious collective emotional release and ID requests alike. Reznik had this to say on it:

“‘One and Only (Original)‘ is a very emotive piece that we realised would rather go into song than track-territory, but we figured there’s quite a few elements in it that would work well in a more club oriented production, so we started to shape it into a club edit. We failed miserably to incorporate Mikesh’s vocals, which is a real bummer, as they are so beautiful. And generally speaking we derailed a bit on this, so there’s actually not too many similarities between both cuts anymore. But we haven’t given up yet on doing a club version containing the original’s vocals. So maybe that’s the dub for now. We had a bit of a Lil’ Louis French Kiss moment when recording the bass line for the club mix.”

It was in 2009, a couple of years after relocating to Berlin, when Reznik teamed up with Adam Port, &ME, Rampa and former members David Mayer and Monja Gentschow and the whole Keinemusik story unfolded. Having released music with Mikesh via Keinemusik, Permanent Vacation, Razor-N-Tape or 2MR, he’s also been on remix duty for the likes of Moby, Tiga & Hudson Mohawke, Beacon or Whitesquare his DJ sets draw on groove and emotions, balancing captivating flow with an element of surprise. Electronic music maestro Tobias Bergson shares serene single ‘One Day’ https://house-music.co/2024/10/28/electronic-music-maestro-tobias-bergson-shares-serene-single-one-day/ Mon, 28 Oct 2024 08:22:37 +0000 https://house-music.co/?p=2117

Tobias Bergson is back with another spectacular hit in the form of ‘One Day’, an Afro house influenced track released on 25 October via PLAYY. Records. Known for his artistic dexterity, Tobias is a force within the electronic music industry, and has amassed over 180 million streams across various streaming platforms, as well as support from the likes of Don Diablo and Lost Frequencies. The Austrian has also released on major labels such as Armada and Universal Austria

‘One Day’ sees Tobias boldly take a new direction from his previously released progressive house single ‘Clear Your Mind’ to an Afro-Garage-House influenced offering. The track has already garnered support from the likes of House Music With Love as well as radio play on CBC Music’s Afterdark Show, and it has been added to the Spotify playlist Electronic Rising

The single is beautifully evocative, and stirs up a heartwarming and comforting ambience. ‘One Day’ features soothing African vocals, dripping over a tantalising Afro house laced beat, along with serene synths culminating into an offering with magnetic energy and deeply resonant warmth. Tobias has managed to outdo himself with this single as it ushers in a new era for his career.

Tobias Bergson told us: “I think ‘One Day’ is a healthy mix of Afro House and a UK Garage beat. I’ve been producing Afro House on and off for over 2 years now, but so far it hasn’t been of interest to the labels… I know ‘One Day’ isn’t really an Afro House track as one would typically know it, but that was exactly what made it interesting—to produce a song with Afro House vocals but without the usual Afro House beat.”

Austrian producer Tobias Bergson released his latest single ‘Clear Your Mind’ on September 13th via PLAYY. Records. Drawing influence from the likes of Deadmau5, Ben Böhmer and Chris Malinchak to name a few, Tobias has been rising steadily within the melodic house scene, with 180 million streams across platforms and counting, as well as support from DJ Magazine and 1001 Tracklists

Tobias has also had releases on prestigious record labels like Armada and Universal Austria, while having graced stages at festivals like Spring Festival (Graz, Austria). For Tobias, music is a way to channel and express his emotions, internal world and lived experiences, creating a distinct blueprint for his work. This results in emotionally pungent and tender melodies and rhythms that’s relatable yet moving.

‘Clear Your Mind’ immaculately holds this notion, as Tobias crafts a track that slices through all of the noise and mental chatter. The progressive melodic house single features full-bodied synths, hypnotising melodic tinctures and a gentle yet firm bassline. It’s evident that Tobias crafted ‘Clear Your Mind’ with intention and precision. It’s an exciting offering from him, which will undoubtedly fill up dancefloors and hearts.

Tobias Bergson shared: “I’ve been a big Deadmau5 fan for a long time, ever since the beginning, to be precise. I love the vibe in his music and the fact that he produces differently from others. It’s a big dream of mine to one day release a song with him.”

ELKKA TEAMS UP WITH TOM VR ON NEW SINGLE ‘BODY ACHE’ OUT NOW ON NINJA TUNE / CURATES ‘PRISM OF PLEASURE’ LIVE SHOW AT KOKO NEXT MONTH https://house-music.co/2024/08/28/elkka-teams-up-with-tom-vr-on-new-single-body-ache-out-now-on-ninja-tune-curates-prism-of-pleasure-live-show-at-koko-next-month/ Wed, 28 Aug 2024 15:08:37 +0000 https://house-music.co/?p=2081 Listen / Save / Purchase ‘Body Ache’ Here

Today, Cardiff-born producer and DJ Elkka returns with new single ‘Body Ache – a collaboration with producer Tom VR. The standalone single arrives off the back of a jam-packed summer for Elkka, with high profile shows around the world. It marks her first new music since the release of her transcendent debut album Prism Of Pleasure, out now on Ninja Tune

“‘Body Ache‘ feels like an extension of the world of Prism of Pleasure” Elkka comments, “It was floating around at the same time but I always knew something was missing so it didn’t end up on the record. Shortly after the album dropped, Tom [VR] and I had been working on various things, I really adore his work and I thought to send it to him to get his take, he worked on it and then it just clicked”

Speaking on the collaboration, Tom VR says, “We’ve been working on and off on different projects over the last year, and then ‘Body Ache’ just ended up flying out of the DAW, which I think is how creativity works for me. You chip away and work consistently over a long time, and then you’ll just get this flare of creativity and synergy when things align on any particular day, and everything just clicks. I like the song because it sounds like a perfect blend of the both of us, and because of the lyrics we decided on calling it ‘Body Ache’, which also underpins this idea of merging complimentary styles, as Elkka has a previous track titled ‘Body’ and I have one titled ‘Acheless’.”

To celebrate the lauded album Elkka has curated a very special Prism of Pleasure show at London’s iconic KOKO next month (7th September), bringing her own compelling live show and featuring a host of hand-selected on-the-rise DJs including BELLA, fka.m4a, Fancy Shews and more. Plus performances from Little Gay Brother and a secret room hosted by London’s premiere Lesbian bar La Camionera, where Elkka recently hosted her packed out Prism of Pleasure album launch. Tickets can be found here

Written over the space of 18 months, Prism of Pleasure encapsulated Elkka’s essence as an LGBTQ+ artist who pushes freedom and sensuality to the forefront of her work. It hasn’t always been like this: born and raised in South Wales, with next to no queer community in her immediate vicinity, Elkka had to piece together her identity slowly and curiously, gradually finding herself along the way. After coming out and moving to London in her 20s, the musician started DJing, writing and producing, which eventually led to her launching her own record label, femme culture, and running her own queer club nights off the back of that.

Written around the notion of queer intimacy, Prism of Pleasure is like a peep into a steam-filled room of wonders, via the female gaze. From the smooth, silken vocals of ‘Crushhh’ to the slow-winding, breathy beats of ‘Your Skin and the steady, undulating synth patterns of ‘surrender2me’, Prism of Pleasure unfurls like a patchwork of sweat-slick nights, emotional connectedness and hidden pleasures. Upon its release the album received widespread support from the likes of Clash, The New Yorker, RA and Notion who described it as “brooding electronica pushes passion and eroticism in such a way that feels liberating”.

Elkka’s deep intuition is the unifying thread throughout her illustrious career: vibrant releases for Local Action and Ninja Tune have marked her as an unstoppable force within the London underground. She has been widely supported by her peers including Four Tet, Floating Points, TSHA, Caribou, Sofia Kourtesis, Jon Hopkins, Ben UFO, SHERELLE, and recently won an AIM Award for Best Remix for her rework of Ela Minus’ ‘Megapunk. Last year, Elkka released a 4-track EP of energetic club tools called DJ Friendly and she also contributed to the trailblazing DJ-Kicks series with a spellbinding mix that championed her love of women and the LGBTQ+ dance community of which Elkka is fiercely part of, regularly performing in intimate spaces and queer parties at the likes of Panorama Bar and FEEL IT

TSHA RELEASES VIDEO FOR NEW SINGLE ‘GIRLS’ (FEAT. ROSE GRAY) https://house-music.co/2024/07/09/tsha-releases-video-for-new-single-girls-feat-rose-gray/ Tue, 09 Jul 2024 12:43:32 +0000 https://house-music.co/?p=2056 The single ‘Girls’ feat. Rose Gray is taken from her forthcoming album Sad Girl due out  September 27th on Ninja Tune. You can also catch TSHA playing worldwide this summer, including as part of her IBISHA 2024 takeover: a run of shows across Ibiza at iconic venues including DC10, Pikes and Ushuaïa.

Fresh from announcing her new album Sad Girl , TSHA has unveiled the brand new video for ‘Girls’ (feat. Rose Gray). Released as the first single from the new record, Girls‘, and the previously released ‘Sweet Devotion’ have already seen widespread support from the likes of MTV, Billboard,  Resident Advisor, NYLON, Mixmag, Clash, DJ Mag, Consequence, Wonderland, This Song Is Sick, PopMatters, Brownies & Lemonade and many more.

The video — directed by Claryn Chong, produced by Amelia Studios — stars both TSHA and Rose Gray, and follows them, as well as a host of friends, as they prepare for a big night out: laughing, dancing, and lifting each other up. It’s a scene of shared ritual, femininity and friendship that will resonate with many, and it’s a perfect accompaniment for what is some of TSHA’s most danceable work to date, with ‘Girls’ described as a proper club anthem “for the girls and gays” to soundtrack messy nights, buoyed up by electro production and an earworm hook sung by Rose Gray: “it’s my body it’s my mind”.

Watch the video for ‘Girls’ (feat. Rose Gray) below:

‘Sad Girl’ sees TSHA welcome a new era, one where she’s putting her own vocal stamp on tracks and approaching the genres she’s always wanted to, rather than seeking approval from her peers. Beyond showcasing just the euphoric or melancholy sides of her character, TSHA puts it all on display. It’s a body of work that shows it’s OK to be sad, and you can even revel in it – you can’t have the highs without the lows, after all.

It’s the second full-length from the fast-rising UK star, and follows 2022’s debut album, Capricorn Sun, which was built on bright, melodic house foundations, bringing in UK garage and rave sensibilities. The record was named Album of the Year by DJ Mag and BBC R1 Dance, while Music Tech mag made TSHA their Producer of the Year – which meant a lot, as a female producer whose production skills were often overlooked. The unifying thread in TSHA’s music is in her ability to convey emotions – take, for example, the heart-tugging ‘Sister’, which came about during the 2020 lockdown after she discovered she had a half-sister.

All this has clearly resonated: TSHA’s music has earned well over 180 million streams, while she’s been nominated for a MOBO for Best Dance Act, and a Grammy, for her writing work on Diplo track ‘Let You Go’. Late last year, she collaborated with Ellie Goulding, after the pop star DMed TSHA saying she loved her work. ‘Somebody’ (with Gregory Porter) was the outcome, an emotive shuffler with artwork inspired by Avril Lavigne’s ‘Let Go’. ‘Giving Up’ (ft. Mafro) was named by Spotify as their fourth best electronic track of 2022.

Now a rising superstar in the electronic world, TSHA has been tipped by the dance music press as well as the likes of the Observer, Billboard and Interview Mag. She has appeared on the covers of Mixmag and DJ Mag, while collecting accolades such as becoming a DC-10 resident, delivering a BBC Essential Mix and more. Gearing up for even more shows, including All Points East, Lost Village and headline shows in North and South America, Europe and beyond, she’s showing no sign of slowing down.

All this is unsurprising, given TSHA has been dominating dancefloors for some time. She regularly supports stadium-sized artists such as Chemical Brothers, Flume and Fred again.. while playing well over 100 shows a year. Her current Ibiza tour has seen her giving out hand-fans and baby-tees adorned with ‘IBISHA’ bubble writing to heaving, sweaty crowds.

While it finds joy in hedonism and escapism, Sad Girl is also an album that addresses difficult feelings. Interlude ‘Lonely Girlchannels her isolated childhood in the predominantly white town of Fareham, near Portsmouth, crafting Secret Garden-esque fairy tales in her head. ‘Green’ was written after an argument with her partner, where she candidly sings (the album sees her debut her vocals for the first time) about toxic positivity. TSHA might radiate confidence, grinning ear to ear, in DJing videos posted on social media, but she’s also openly talked about struggles with her mental wellbeing. Titular track ‘Sad Girl’ has a spoken word intro from Dan Whitlam, themed around feelings of loneliness and unhappiness despite being surrounded by people. Importantly though, Sad Girl sees TSHA moving through and beyond these challenges.

As with her earlier releases, Sad Girl plays freely with genres – TSHA is someone with an encyclopaedic knowledge of music, and her personal tastes range from Pink Floyd to Caroline Polachek. Here she taps into her teenage years – the title nods to emo-y MSN screen names and Hotmail addresses – and you can hear it in the strokes of ‘00s R&B, rude electro and anthemic techno, recalling the bittersweetness and angst of early adulthood. Amid snatches of stillness and reflection, it’s a dance record at its core: hot club bumpers rub up against hypnotic floorfillers and MTV-worthy pop.

The inspiration for the artwork came after, aged 21, TSHA had a dream that she was trapped under ice. She’d been depressed at the time, and imagined walking over a frozen lake, it cracking and her falling into the freezing water. After fighting to try and get out, she gave in, sinking to the bottom. That dream has always stuck in her head: she linked it to feeling like she was fighting life at the time. On the album’s cover, she’s successfully pulled herself out of the ice, and is laid atop an iceberg, in a glam shot inspired by Thierry Mugler’s fashion photography from the ‘80s.

Watch and listen to ‘Girls’ (feat. Rose Gray) now, and see below for a full list of TSHA’s upcoming shows. Sad Girl is out on September 27th on Ninja Tune.

Calcou shares a dreamy single, ‘Time’ https://house-music.co/2024/06/18/calcou-shares-a-dreamy-single-time/ Tue, 18 Jun 2024 11:57:00 +0000 https://house-music.co/?p=2051 Multi-instrumentalist, producer and composer Calcou shared a dreamy single titled ‘Time’ on June 14th, 2024 via MfRD+C. The track, which premiered on National Irish station RTÉ 2FM, offers a glimpse of his forthcoming album, Murmuration, slated for release on July 5th, 2024.The Berlin-based artist’s latest singles were picked by worldwide Spotify editorials for playlists like Fresh Finds, Late Night Vibes, metropolis or by Apple US for focus playlists like Today’s Chill. He has received support from numerous blogs and magazines such as CLASH Magazine, Stereofox, Son Of Marketing, House Music With Love, Majestic Casual and ElectroPosé to name a few. Calcou has worked with a wide range of well-known brands including Universal Music and BMW, who have just featured his latest release ‘Anthophyllite’ in a global ad campaign. Calcou finds inspiration in the works of Kiasmos, Bonobo, and Caribou while his latest release calls to mind the likes of Four Tet, Maribou State and George FitzGerald.

‘Time’ floats within the realm of electronica, drifting between serene, immersive atmospheres and pulsating four-on-the-floor energy. Its rich blend of deep bass, organic elements, delicate vocal snippets, and sparkling synths creates a sonic journey, oscillating between momentum and moments of introspective reflection.

Calcou shared: ‘Time’ is about how it feels to be constantly chased. By deadlines and appointments, but also by little things like constant availability. Sensory overload has become a kind of permanent state, with opportunities and answers everywhere. We wrote this text in collaboration with AI. Everything happens incredibly fast, AI doesn’t need a break. I asked myself what place humans will have in this system.”

Ben Böhmer sows the seeds for his forthcoming album ‘Bloom’ with the release of his latest single, ‘Best Life’ featuring JONAH https://house-music.co/2024/06/12/ben-bohmer-sows-the-seeds-for-his-forthcoming-album-bloom-with-the-release-of-his-latest-single-best-life-featuring-jonah/ Wed, 12 Jun 2024 14:03:08 +0000 https://house-music.co/?p=2045 The renowned, award-winning electronic music artist Ben Böhmer announces his first new studio album in three years, Bloom. The news comes alongside a brand new single, ‘Best Life’, featuring JONAH, and an announcement of an 8-stop run of live shows through the UK and Europe this fall. Bloom is set for release on 27th September on Ninja Tune

Coming off a record-breaking world tour in support of his previous album, during which he sold out all dates months in advance, Ben Böhmer made a point to take time to himself and return to the space that compels him the most: his studio. It’s there that he’s able to truly channel his passion for spontaneous creativity and relentlessly focus on honing a craft that allows him to express deep, complex feelings. He tackled grief on his breakthrough debut album, Breathing (2019), and separation on its follow-up, 2021’s Begin Again.

The success of those records, almost 1 billion streams and counting, and his ability to connect with audiences in a live setting—he played over 200 shows in 2022—propelled him down a track that felt at odds with what he wanted. Despite the accolades and sell-out events, he was being pulled in a direction that was not him. Bloom is a reset, a confident reassertion of his own desires and more improvisational origins. In Bloom, we hear and feel Ben’s growth, the joyful pursuit of newness that pulls him back to the studio day after day, season after season.

Ben embraces his imperfect journey thus far on the forthcoming album’s first single, ‘Best Life’, featuring Berlin-based singer-songwriter duo JONAH. Sonically, ‘Best Life’ is a bold step in a new direction for Böhmer, who is intent on growing out of the pre-fabricated boxes he’s been placed in. Böhmer’s songwriting and composing talents extend to the foreground on Bloom alongside revered artists like indie royalty Lykke Li, alt-pop duo Oh Wonder, Enfant Sauvage (of the French duo The Blaze), and more. The album features a swathe of styles and tempos that earlier tracks in his career feel like breadcrumbs to.

“Life is short and fast,” JONAH remarks on the track. “You try, you fail, and sometimes we lose a special person along the way who is irreplaceable, but the memories stay with us, shaping who we are. ‘Best Life’ is all about that rollercoaster ride of trying, failing, and a reminder of the importance of living each moment to the fullest.”

In support of the new album announcement, Böhmer has announced a run of live shows this fall across the UK and Europe, including stops at Alexandra Palace in London and Albert Hall in Manchester. These dates will follow his upcoming performances at major music festivals like Sonar, Electric Forest, Lollapalooza, and Portola, in addition to his direct support performances for ODESZA at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, the Gorge Amphitheatre in Washington, and Madison Square Garden in New York City.

ADRIANNA, a rising star in London’s Tech House scene, is gaining traction with her tough, vocal-infused beats, drawing comparisons to industry heavyweights Alan Fitzpatrick, Deborah de Luca, Nina Kraviz and Carl Cox.  She has received support from notable publications such as The Sun, Mixmag, and CLASH Magazine, to name a few.

ADRIANNA’s ‘Wild Electric’ soared to #5 on Beatport with its intense acid tech vibe, boasting pulsing rhythms, trippy synths, and a booming kick. 808 State’s remix expertly honours the original’s energy while adding their iconic 90s acid house touch, featuring analog synths and organic percussion for a lighter yet infectious rendition.

808 State revealed: “For ADRIANNA’s ‘Wild Electric’ remix I had dusted off my trusty Sequential Circuits Pro One Synth, it has some serious punch to it. The Roland R8 drum Machine was a signature 808 State flavour back in the early 90s especially using the ‘Ethnic Percussion’ card, I hadn’t used that in a while – there are plenty of old hardware synths chained up to make this an analogue rich juggernaut!”
