Vocalist, songwriter, music teacher, house music extraordinaire and Groove Cruise resident DJ Lizzie Curious is known for her energetic and life of the party performances on Twitch. The multi-talented music producer has released music via established labels like Toolroom, Let There Be House and Armada through the years. She has also received acclaim from the likes of Fatboy Slim and Radio 1’s Danny Howard for her larger than life sound. Lizzie Curious is a sought after act and full package that is why she has remained one of the top acts on the world’s largest, floating dance music festival Groove Cruise. She has now collaborated with the likes of fellow house talent Doc Brown on single ‘One Day’ via unlearn: records. Music producer Lily-Jo has just announced a brand new song ‘Be The Change’ which is set to be released on the 22nd of May 2020

Inspired by the infamous quote, “Be the change you wish to see in the world” – ‘Be The Change’ by Lily-Jo is a song about taking initiative, smiling in the face of adversity, and the importance of simply being kind to one another. Though not intentionally written for a period of a pandemic, the spirit of ‘Be The Change’ is especially critical in today’s challenging and uncertain times.

South London based producer/musician KMODO announces new song ‘When Will I Get There’ which is set to be released on the  5th of June 2020.

‘When Will I Get There’ features, singer Clara Serra Lopez and the release will be accompanied by a LIVE VIDEO featuring a full band. It is about the personal battle with your-self over expectations and achievement and features retro, lo-fi synths, ethnic percussion and slightly wonky beats.

Tell us about your earliest musical memory?
That would probably be singing children’s songs with my parents.

At what point in your life did you have that moment where you said to yourself “This is it. This is the type of music I want to create?”
Far too late! I started writing and producing my own music 3 years ago. It was something I wanted to do around the year 2000, but life’s path chose me another route.

Logic Pro X and it’s integrated synths, Kontakt libraries, Diva, Serum, NI Komplete Kontrol keyboard

What inspires you outside of music? What do you turn to when the creative well runs a little low?
My wife and children inspire me and keep me fresh (unless they wake me up in the middle of the night ) And I like to take my boat out. Being outside, feeling the air and hearing sounds of nature works very well.

What is your opinion on the ever-spreading sub-genre vine? Are there too many? Do you think there’ s perhaps a sub-genre that doesn’t get the attention it deserves?
Every genre is time-based. It comes and goes and something new will emerge. For me, the slower bpm music is something I think will become more popular over time. But I love both (down- and uptempo) and I create both.

Studio work and music creation or performing and interacting with a live audience, what do you prefer?
Creating something magical in the studio for me is like walking around in a candy store as a little kid. But these tracks need testing, obviously. I love both just as much

As a music artist, it becomes apparent that there is a huge difference between the art and the business. Is there anything about the music scene that you would personally change?
I think it would be a good thing if the awareness about DJ life, travelling, performing and everything that comes with it, can become more of an open book. It’s not just paradise and glory and some DJ’s are finally spreading that word.

Any new or upcoming artists on your radar? Who shouldn’t the world sleep on?
Ka:Lu (Italy), Zuma Dionys (Russia), The Oddness (Australia), Kapoor (Poland) and I can go on. There’s a ton of good music out there <3

What can we expect from you in the near future? Any upcoming projects or gigs in the pipeline that you would like to tell us about?
I’ve teamed up with a spoken word artist from the Netherlands; we made 2 tracks as part of an EP that will come out in the Fall that we’re pretty excited about. 

Besides that, I am finally working on new originals that have been on the shelve for far too long (remix requests were piling up, I decided to take it easy on that for now). And some cool collaborations between me and other artists are emerging in the coming days, weeks and months.

I also keep on doing the Dancing under the Stars events in my hometown with some very inspiring musicians from around the world and local heroes.
