GRAMMY® Award-winning duo Bob Moses share Brazilian producer/DJ Vintage Culture’s club-ready remix of their hit single Love Brand New” and an accompanying visualizer. One of the most anthemic moments on the Los Angeles-based band’s recently released third album The Silence in Between (Domino Recording Company/Astralwerks), “Love Brand New” climbed to the #2 spot at Alternative Radio this week. Go HERE to listen to Love Brand New (Vintage Culture Remix), and check out the kinetic and colorful visualizer HERE.

In a striking departure from the original version ofLove Brand New — a moody and mercurial track that’s cracked the top ten at AAA Radio and reached #11 on Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart — Vintage Culture’shigh-energy remix strips away the band’s brooding guitar tones and accelerates the tempo to a thrilling velocity. Building to a wild intensity in its first minute, the remix then bursts into a dizzying explosion of pulsating beats and potent grooves — all while expertly preserving the song’s indelible melodies and raw emotion.

“Vintage Culture is a very talented gentleman, and we feel fortunate to be able to have him work his magic on of our tracks for a second time,” state Bob Moses, whose 2020 track “Desire” was remixed by Vintage Culture and Kiko Franco. “We look forward to dropping this banging mix in our Club Sets for the foreseeable future.”

Widely recognized as one of the most influential and creative forces of his generation in Brazil and beyond, Vintage Culture has also brought his talents to impressive remixes of the likes of Meduza, Moby, Diplo, David Guetta & Sia. The platinum-selling, chart-topping producer/DJ will headline EDC Las Vegas this weekend, in addition to taking the stage at Tomorrowland in July and touring throughout North America and Europe this summer.

“The songs that Bob Moses write and record are inspiring and have an emotional impact on the audience, says Vintage Culture.  I admire their talent and I’m very proud to lend my production skills to the new remix of ‘Love Brand New.’  I look forward to including this new classic in my shows through the Summer of 2022.”

Tonight, Bob Moses will continue their headlining tour of North America, a 25-date run whose highlights include last Friday’s sold-out show at the legendary Greek Theatre in L.A. With the tour wrapping up tomorrow in their hometown of Vancouver, the band will head overseas for the European leg of their headline tour later this year.  Go HERE for more information on all Bob Moses tour dates.

Along with “Love Brand New, The Silence in Between includes singles like “Time And Time Again” (a November release accompanied by a spellbinding video); “Never Ending” (praised by the likes of Clash, who hailed it as “indicative of the pair’s creative passions, blending ethereal electronics with the subtle use of club tropes”), and “Hanging On” (a heavy-hearted but life-affirming anthem). Bob Moses’ first full-length since signing to Astralwerks in a unique global partnership with Domino Recording Co., the album follows their JUNO Award-nominated 2020 project Desire and marks their first full-length since 2018’s Battle Lines (featuring the hit single “Back Down”). The band’s dynamic catalog also includes their acclaimed debut album Days Gone By — a 2015 release featuring standouts like “Tearing Me Up,a Top 15 US Alternative radio hit nominated for two GRAMMY® Awards, with a remix from RAC winning in the category of Best Remix Recording (Non-Classical).

TSHA and Mall Grab remix electronic producer Model Man’s song ‘Don’t Cry’ https://house-music.co/2022/01/13/tsha-and-mall-grab-remix-electronic-producer-model-mans-song-dont-cry/ Thu, 13 Jan 2022 12:47:51 +0000 https://house-music.co/?p=1613

Oslo Hackney headline show tickets here

Dance music favourites TSHA and Mall Grab feature on a new remix package for the Model Man singleDon’t Cry’ featuring East London artist Hamzaa, out now on Mahogany Records.

Kicking things off, TSHA delivers an enchanting, stripped-back rework of ‘Don’t Cry’ that accentuates the wistful piano melodies. In contrast, the Mall Grab remix sees the Aussie talent tap into his trademark upbeat electronica sound as he delivers a club workout steeped in emotion.

First released as a single last September, Don’t Cry’ then featured on Model Man’s acclaimed debut album, a record glowingly described as pitting “the physical against the cerebral, often with striking results,” by online dance music platform Data Transmission. The record received support from Jack Saunders and Sian Eleri on BBC Radio 1.

At the core of Model Man is Mark Brandon, who has been making waves with some of dance music’s biggest players. Fusing ambient electronics with elements of bass culture, Brandon’s creative stance pits the physical against the cerebral, often with striking results. Since releasing music, he has garnered support from BBC Radio 1, Clash Magazine, Defected and underground favourite Alan Fitzpatrick amongst others.

Model Man also played a sold-out headline show at London’s Corsica Studios on 4th November, with Brandon bringing his productions to life with a band setup consisting of Tommy Galbally (bass & keys) and Andy Grant (drums). Following this show, Model Man has now announced an upcoming show at Oslo in Hackney on 3rd March.

Touted as ‘one to watch’ by Mixmag, Billboard, DJ Mag and BBC Radio 1 tastemaker Pete Tong, TSHA is quickly emerging as one of the most exciting young artists around. She debuted on the legendary Ninja Tune imprint at the tail-end of last year, with acclaimed EP ‘Flowers’ hailed as “a bold snapshot of TSHA’s sonic evolution” by NME.

Australian wonderkid Mall Grab has enjoyed a meteoric rise over the last few years to become one of the most in-demand electronic artists on the circuit. On the production front he has released head-turning singles and EPs for the likes of Shall Not Fade, Steel City Dance Discs and his own Looking For Trouble imprint.

With contributions from two of the most exciting young artists in dance music, theDon’t Cryremix package doesn’t disappoint.

Legendary DJ and producer Carl Cox has paid homage to Geraldine Hunt’s cult classic ‘Can’t Fake The Feeling’ with his interpretation of the original, out now on iconic Canadian imprint Unidisc.

A celebration of the track’s musicianship and legacy, Carl Cox delivers a pitched-up, refined rework of Can’t Fake The Feeling’ that further accentuates the infectious dancefloor energy of the original. Carl Cox’s delicate and subtle remix is an ode to the original which was released in 1980 and topped the US Dance chart for seven weeks, also peaking at #58 on the US Soul chart and #44 on the UK Singles chart

To celebrate 40 years since the label was inaugurated, Unidisc is utilising its extensive and plentiful supply of dance music classics to create an exceptional collection of remixes from an all-star cast of today’s dance music talent. It was kick-started with the Claptone remix of the Trans-X classic ‘Living On Video’, Jacques Greene’s take on the Lime favouriteBabe We’re Gonna Love Tonight’ and Alan Fitzpatrick’s club-ready rework of ‘Let The Music Play’ by Shannon, with Purple Disco Machine among the artists still to contribute to this exciting anniversary project.

Over its four-decade-long lifetime, Unidisc has constantly evolved and shifted with the times –  formed in 1977 it quickly became one of Canada’s largest independent record labels, building a reputation around its Italo disco and Hi-NRG output from artists such as Lime, France Joli, and Geraldine Hunt. Unidisc went on to spawn a national movement that was a precursor to the arrival of global stars like Richie Hawtin, John Aquaviva and Mistress Barbara.

A musical ambassador and a veteran of acid house, a champion of techno, a dance music pioneer, label owner, king of Ibiza – you name it, Carl Cox has been there and done it, never losing sight of his passions – playing music, breaking tunes and celebrating life. Perhaps the most celebrated electronic artist on the planet, he has received thirteen DJ Awards, three International Dance Music Awards, three DJ Mag Awards and one NME Award – while showing no signs of slowing down.

The fourth show-stopping remix release in a row, Unidisc acquire the service of a bonafide dance music legend with typically dazzling results.

DJ Gui Boratto returns with yet another sterling remix (Douran – ‘Inertia’) https://house-music.co/2021/04/23/dj-gui-boratto-returns-with-yet-another-sterling-remix-douran-inertia/ Fri, 23 Apr 2021 08:03:22 +0000 http://housemusic.ground.fm/?p=1415   Image credit: Gabriel Ferrante

Let’s slip into the world of old school electro beats and shimmering remixes as Gui Boratto takes on Douran’s latest single, ‘Inertia’. A well-known name in the underground Brazilian music scene, Gui Boratto has been enjoying exploring the world of remixes, having recently released a remix for RITA LEE’s ‘Mutante’ which features Roberto de Carvalho. However, it’s his original work such as ‘Paradise Circus’ and ‘Beautiful Life ft. Luciana Villanova’ that still remain strong in fans hearts.

Stream/Download: ‘Inertia (Gui Boratto Remix)’

Douran has also been embarking on a journey of remixes, as the title track for his upcoming EP Avalanche received a remix from the notorious Joachim Pastor. The upcoming EP will feature several other remixes, accompanied by the original version of the tracks and will be available to the public in Spring 2021. The EP will feature a little something for everyone, with cinematic orchestral elements meeting deep house beats, and we hear rumours about a few wave aspects to be included as well.

Gui Boratto tells us why he chose to take on the remix: “I embraced Douran’s music as soon as I identified the challenge of printing my musical signature while respecting the pillars of the original composition –  much more than just remixing. ‘Inertia is such a great song”.
