Swedish producer DJ Seinfeld has shared a euphoric, dance floor ready single titledThese Things Will Come To Be, marking the second track to be lifted from his highly anticipated forthcoming album Mirrors”. Speaking of the track, Seinfeld (real name Armand Jakobsson) commented: “To me this track feels like it could’ve been included in my first album. Partly because I still am drawn to aspects of that sound, and partly because I still feel inspired by the optimism that came out of difficult times. ‘These Things Will Come To Be’ refers to that optimism, and I hope it’s something that you’ll all enjoy.”

Also announced today, DJ Seinfeld will be launching a new monthly live-series on Spotify’s Greenroom platform. Titled ‘GALAZY ROOM’ the inaugural show will take place at 15:00 BST on 29 July and will feature informal discussions around one of Armand’s burning interests: Space. DJ Seinfeld, musicians and friends—including Teira and Baltra—will join Armand to discuss everything from The Universe to Space Exploration to Unexplained Aerial Phenomena, and maybe find time to share some music too. Greenroom can be accessed using your existing Spotify account, set a reminder to tune in live here.

Recorded between Berlin and Malmo, “Mirrors” is the follow-up to Seinfeld’s critically acclaimed 2017 debut album “Time Spent Away From U” and his first for Ninja Tune. Named after a quote by Armand’s favourite writer, Argentine novelist Julio Cortázar, the album finds the producer in a more settled and grounded mood after an unfortunate family incident forced the producer to spend more time at home in his native Sweden over the past few years. Recently announced alongside italo-tinged summer anthem lead single U Already Know’, it received impressive support from the likes of RA, The Fader, DJ Mag, Clash, XLR8R and Mixmag, who unveiled Seinfeld as their July cover star just last week. Radio support has also come from the likes of Annie Mac, Pete Tong, Jack Saunders and The Blessed Madonna.

Rising to prominence in 2016 as part of the lo-fi house scene alongside producers including Ross From Friends and Mall Grab, DJ Seinfeld (whose name is a result of extended sessions watching the classic American sitcom after a breakup and move to Barcelona) released his debut album in 2017 which received plaudits from Rolling Stone and Pitchfork to name a couple. It also gained attention from contemporaries like Flume, Flying Lotus, Bonobo and Martin Garrix and saw Seinfeld become a globally in-demand DJ playing sets everywhere from Glastonbury to Coachella, Warehouse Project, Sónar By Night and MoMaPS1, sharing stages with everyone from Jeff Mills to Stormzy, Underworld and Bicep as well as accompanying Disclosure on several dates of their US tour. In 2018 he became part of a select group of DJs that includes Moodymann, DJ Koze and Nina Kraviz when he was chosen to curate an edition of the iconic DJ Kicks mix series. To top it off, Aphex Twin began playing his track ‘Sakura’ in his live shows.

With the world slowly waking up, thoughts have turned to creating a live show, with Seinfeld currently working with an esteemed, world class music and lighting designer. This impressive new live show will be showcased later this year with headline shows across Europe and North America, including dates at iconic London venue EartH, Amsteram’s Melkweg, the El Rey Theater in LA, NYC’s Music Hall of Williamsburg, The Metro in Chicago and more. Upcoming high profile festival performances include this year’s long awaited Field Day and Warehouse Project’s Repercussion festival, plus Primavera 2022 where he’s set to close the Ray-Ban Stage (with Bicep, Jamie xx and Disclosure announced to close the other days). “It’s been nice to have time away to reflect and recuperate,” he tells us. “But I’m looking forward to getting back to those moments on the road where life becomes a little Anthony Bourdain-esque.”

Mirrors” is out 3rd Sept 2021 on Ninja Tune, with new singleThese Things Will Come To Be’ out now.

Bob Moses song ‘Desire’ gets official remix by Charlotte De Witte https://house-music.co/2021/02/17/bob-moses-song-desire-gets-official-remix-by-charlotte-de-witte/ Wed, 17 Feb 2021 13:38:01 +0000 http://housemusic.ground.fm/?p=1351

Bob Moses have released a brand-new remix from Charlotte de Witte of their single “Desire” with ZHU, extending the song to a seven-minute plus deep techno take. Her reimagined version, out now on Domino, follows the release of Falling into Focus – Live 2020, Bob Moses’ first concert film and live album. Accompanying the remix is a video animated by Airplan Studio and directed by Owen Brown, which completes the arc of the original interactive “Desire” music video by focusing on the blue character’s storyline of pleasure; the video for Solomun’s “Desire” remix focused on the red character’s storyline of heartbreak.

Charlotte de Witte is a Belgian born DJ whose surge on the scene has resulted in her being one of the most sought-after names in electronic music today. Highlight performances across the continents, Mixmag & DJ Mag covers, high-ranking positions in the charts & lists, and one of the strongest social media profiles in music today, confirm her status as nouveau techno royalty. Her accolades, including the number one spot in DJ Mag Alternative Top 100 DJs of 2020, Best Techno at the DJ Awards in 2019, and a high-profile residency at BBC Radio 1, honor validations of de Witte’s hard work. Through her boutique label KNTXT—which stands for stands for purity, strength & progression within a vibrant and ever evolving techno scene—Charlotte de Witte organizes events, releases music and curates radio shows.

The release of de Witte’s remix bookends an unprecedented year for Bob Moses as well as the entire music industry due to the coronavirus. Unable to tour, Tom Howie and Jimmy Vallance took to the digital space with their weekly online ‘BobCast’ series, now streaming exclusively through Twitch.  They released their third studio project Desire, a six-track love tale for the digital age: all about the positives and pitfalls of humanity’s driving wants, especially in these technology-driven times, bringing together a thematic style of songwriting with the flow of modern electronic music.

Falling into Focus – Live 2020, a concert film also directed by Owen Brown, and live album of the same name, followed. An hour-long set performed from an abandoned radio tower in Topanga, California, it comprised 13 tracks, highlighting material from Desire, their previous albums Battle Lines and Days Gone By, plus an exclusive live band version of “Desire”.  Starting atop the skyscraping structure as night took over, Bob Moses slowly worked their way down the tower performing multiple sets in a variety of configurations, both as a band and in their original two-piece setup.
